There are a wide variety of activities running on a regular schedule in the Bangor and Waterville areas. Adult heavy armored fighting (often called "Rattan" for the wooden swords used), youth armored combat, adult and youth rapier combat, archery, thrown weapons, various artisan activities such as metalworking, leatherwork, stained glass, music, dance, costuming, needlework, and much more.

Bare Blade Tavern Brawl

There will be rapier combat (heavy rapier default) and Arts & Sciences activities running all day long.

There are several opportunities to enjoy a medieval autumn in Maine through participation in SCA demos and events. Join the Friends of Fort Knox on Saturday, September 10th for their Annual Medieval Tournament at historic Fort Knox in Prospect, Maine. Several of the Maine SCA groups will be working together to present a large scale demonstration of medieval & renaissance swordplay as well as displays of gentler artistic pursuits. State park admission fees apply for visitors.

The Shire of Endewearde will be hosting a Novice Schola in Bangor on Saturday, September 17th, at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Bangor church. Check back often for updates to the class schedule.

At the end of the September the Tyger and Bucket Tavern will open for an evening of fine food and entertainments on Saturday, September 24th in Saco.

Enjoy the crisp autumn air among the maple trees which surround a tranquil pond over Columbus Day weekend, October 7-10, in Newburgh at the Endewearde Hunt. Archery is the theme of the day as well as classes and evening bardic entertainment by a warm fire. Bring your pavillion and camp for the weekend or just come and spend the day among friends.

As soon as Autumn has hit full stride and the leaves are off the trees the rumbling sound of Thunder can be heard from the distant pastures of NewThorLand in Auburn as a small war threatens to break out among our southern Maine neighbors on Saturday, October 29th. This promises to become a most UnCivil War, for the third year in a row. Will the bickering never cease?

If the sound of neighbors squabbling leaves you feeling distraught then journey north to the Shire of Smithwick as they celebrate a Halloween Harvest Schola in Fort Kent on Saturday, October 29th. We know the SCA clothing looks like fancy costume to everyone else but it's just everyday garb to a medievalist.

Before the gentle snow of winter arrives in Maine the privateers of the Knowne Worlde shall be finding their way once again to the Bare Blade Tavern in Unity on Saturday, November 19th. Where else would swashbuckling scoundrels sail to replenish their stock of essential supplies and spend their shore leave? This is a tavern themed event. In addition to rapier combat there will also be arts & sciences classes and activities.
