The Barony of Endewearde’s Sunday combat practice has moved to Dedham for Sunday, August 2, 2015.

There will be an Adult Fighter & Fencer Practice at the home of Lord William of Wyndhaven in Dedham, Maine. Loaner fighter gear will be available. An official thrown weapons practice will run if a thrown weapons marshal is available. A garbed potluck dinner will follow combat practice. This gathering starts at 4:00 pm and runs until 9:00 pm. If the weather is uncooperative that day and it rains, the focus will shift to the Pennsic Pity Party and will be held indoors. The firepit will be lit and the grill will be ready to cook.

Adult Fighter & Fencer practice will not be held at the Bangor Housing Authority site that day. Lord William’s home is located at 3 Anderson Way, Dedham, Maine, 04429. It is just beyond the Bald Mt access. The road is actually Johnson Rd and the lane to William’s home is Anderson Way.

Additional information and driving directions are available through the Sunday, August 2nd entry on Endewearde’s Master Calendar.

Please wear garb to this SCA gathering.

There will be a meeting for novice scribes who would like to practice medieval illumination. No matter your experience level, you are welcome to come sit around the kitchen table and learn more about drawing and painting medieval scrolls.

Please bring what supplies you have to the Bangor  Housing Authority gymnasium, 161 Davis Road, Bangor, Maine on Sunday, August 16th starting at 4:00 pm. There are plenty of tables and folding chairs we can use in the large gym area if we have too many participants to fit into the kitchen space.

This is also Endewearde’s regular weekly combat practice which features adult heavy list fighting, adult rapier combat, youth fencing and youth combat, so bring along your friends and family for an extended visit in Endewearde (pending marshal availability). The novice scribal meeting is also a hands on workshop – you can expect to sit down and doodle or paint something and be able to ask questions / get practical help on illumination techniques.

You can find beginning resources for new scribes at the East Kingdom Tyger Clerk of the Signet website

The following facebook event page “Scibal Illumination Workshop” has been created to discuss planning details prior to this  meeting: ;

Please take note that Sunday, August 16th is the rain date for the Baronial Thrown Weapons Championship which will take place in Bucksport, Maine. Check back for updates on this workshop in case of inclement weekend weather.
