Maine Celtic Celebration SCA Demo in Belfast, Maine: July 14-16, 2017

The Barony of Endewearde will be providing a medieval Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) display and demonstration at the Maine Celtic Celebration festival in Belfast, Maine over the weekend of July 14-16, 2017.

We would like to ask SCA participants to show their best artisan crafts in a medieval village atmosphere. We are looking for artisan demos, music and dance. Heavy list and rapier combat demonstrations would be very much appreciated. Volunteer camping is encouraged by event organizers. Come join us for a fun weekend of just for the day on the Belfast waterfront.

SCA volunteers are welcome to camp on site by the ocean Friday July 21 through Sunday July 23, 2017. We will be located at the Steamboat Landing and Belfast Commons on the Belfast waterfront.

“Hear Ye! Hear Ye!” The Maine Celtic Celebration in collaboration with the Barony of Endewearde invites you to step back in time to medieval Europe. A small artisan village will be set up on Steamboat Landing by local re-enactors of the “The Society for Creative Anachronism”, or SCA. The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts, skills, and traditions of pre-17th-century Europe. Members of the SCA study and take part in a variety of activities, including combat, fencing, archery, costuming, cooking, metalwork, woodworking, music, dance, calligraphy, fiber arts, forestry and much more. Some of these artisans will display their skills for us during the weekend. Explore what life might have been like and interact with the re-enactors in this demonstration village.
