We welcome the public to visit our medieval village at the Maine Celtic Celebration.
In addition to a host of other activities, you can visit local Maine members of the The Society for Creative Anachronism in their medieval village.
The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international non-profit volunteer educational organization. The SCA is devoted to the research and re-creation of pre-seventeenth century skills, arts, combat, culture, and employing knowledge of history to enrich the lives of participants through events, demonstrations, and other educational presentations and activities. The SCA’s “Known World” consists of 20 kingdoms and over 30,000 members around the globe.
Steamboat Landing has over 800 feet of shoreline frontage, a gazebo, the Harbor Walk. Steamboat Landing will host a mini medieval village with displays of arts and sciences from the Middle Ages. Camping is available for members of the SCA on the waterfront for the entire weekend.
