The First Great Endeweardian Horkney
Aug 24 @ 10:00 am – 10:00 pm
The First Great Endeweardian Horkney

A day of friendly challenges or contests decided by any groups or guilds as well as any SCA Activities for whom we can find staff. These include the following, Marshal activities, A&S displays, competitions or workshops, Guild displays, workshops or competitions as well as any other groups including unofficial ones. We plan on having some exciting challenges wear the foresters and the cooks of the east will have the opportunity to test their skills and compete against each other for the favor of their excellencies. During this process, the foresters will have the opportunity to put their knowledge to the test and will be challenged to try to find things from the forest and surrounding lands to include in their cooking. There will also be opportunities for new and pre-existing foresters to expand on the skills necessary to help them rank up in the foresters’ guild.

Each group will be given any number of tokens requested and they may hand these out to “winners” but also will be encouraged to notice the new people and volunteers. From 4 PM-5 PM, participants are invited to come and write down the number of tokens they acquired and the largest number wins the day. The ultimate goal, of course, is to impress their excellencies while trying new things. Come hone your skills with us and have a great time!

The New Northern Lights A&S Competition and Tir Mara University - Lyndhaven

For more information visit

The Northern Lights A&S competition was a long running tradition before Tir Mara became a principality. We in the north would like to revive this tradition and add a few new twists. At the same time, we would like to offer a Tir Mara University and have a variety of classes in all arts and sciences. At this time we also would like to put the call out to all the teachers of the East Kingdom to teach in our Tir Mara University.
One of the twists is if you enter the A&S competition and teach a class related to your entry you will receive bonus points.

So come and join us here in the North – let us hear from the Artists, the Bards, the fencers, the Fighters, the archers and the foresters, anyone who wishes to teach a class. Come and join us in learning a new Craft or art form, and witness the beautiful results in the Northern Lights A&S Competition. In addition, we are planning to have several activities for the children.

The site boasts five double cabins, with sixteen single bunk beds per side, and an attached modern washroom between. The cabins are unheated, but there are plugs for space heaters and CPAP machines.
There is also generous space to camp in tents should attendees wish to do so. No open fires are permitted on the grounds. Also, the site is equipped with six indoor showers and toilets.
If your household wishes to be bunked in a cabin together, please include who you wish to be cabin sharing with on the google doc’s form at the time of your reservation. The site is a church camp and thereby very discreetly damp. There will be a designated smoking area with containers for discarding garbage. Please be respectful of the property and use the provided area and containers.
