Feast of Saint Sylvester 2023

January 21, 2023

The Barony of Endewearde asks for you to join us at our Feast of Saint Sylvester from 11am util the food is gone! It is time once again to celebrate the passing of another year amongst friends with food, drink, dancing, and games!  Our site is a lovely Tudor style hall that will welcome you in and invite you to relax as you enjoy the games and dancing that will begin at 11am.  Bring your favorite game or play some of the classics while the fireplace warms you. The Cock & Bull Tavern will be open for everyone to share any drinks they may provide whether store bought or brewed. There will be minimal Gold Key (loaner garb) for those who may need it.. The site is wet (alcohol permitted) and flame candles allowed.

From 11am – 4:30 there will be presentations of A&S projects that are in progress or finished pieces.  There will be a populace vote on the presentations.

At 12:30, Charcuterie Board (Meat, Cheeses, Handmade Flat Bread Crackers) Plank Baked Salmon with handmade crackers, Hazel Nuts, Apple Cider, and water.

At 2pm there will be a YOUTH CHALLENGE!   We invite guests under 21 to make a nonalcoholic cordial for a round-table discussion.  A great family activity, this is to help future brewers learn how to discuss and panel a brew.

At 3:30pm there will be an ADULT nonalcoholic cordial round-table discussion.   Afterwards all entries will be put up for a populace vote.

At 5:30pm the feast (included in the event fee) will be served and any who wish to provide entertainment are encouraged to do so. Ulf is our wonderful “feastocrat” this year following up on his research of Nordic cuisine. Please, remember to bring your feast gear and any beverages you may want to share. The menu is: hardy mutton stew, fish chowder, fresh baked soda bread, peas & carrots, cabbage salad, and desert with mixed berries, and coffee for a pick-me-up for the trip home.
