The forests of Endewearde are vast and autumn will be upon us. Folks gather in the fields to seek out friendship, knowledge, skill, and fame. The maples and oaks watch over us as a new baronial archery champion is sought through displays of prowess. Under the pines, people gather to learn arts and sciences from each other. Their Excellencies watch over the populace with love and admiration. Joyous days are had by all. Join us!
Endewearde’s biggest camping event takes place in Newburgh, Maine, and will be filled with archery and thrown weapons competitions, as well as the selection of Endewearde’s new baronial archery champion, aka our “First Archer”, and Endewearde’s next baronial thrown weapons champion, the ever-popular archery woods walk, a potables round table, a vast A&S track that includes an embroidery challenge and more!
This year there will be a potluck dinner Saturday night with entertainment. Bring your best dishes to share with everyone. More details to come on the entertainment. No day board is scheduled for this event so please be prepared for yourself.
The site offers primitive camping and above-ground fire pits are welcome! Dogs are permitted but must remain on a lead. Please make sure you clean up after them. The site has no electricity or running water, so please plan accordingly. “Port-o-Castles” will be located throughout the site for your comfort. There are no dumpsters on site. Hunting for Victory Tournament (3:30pm Sat)
Open to all fencers that have not yet won a tournament in their SCA journey. Round robin tournament, the fighter may bring any form they wish, but must wait at least two fights before using the same form again. Single rapier being the exception that can be used as often as a fencer prefers.
Outdoor Cooking
The Cobb oven was completed in time for last year’s rainy hunt. Some of the 40 campers will remember warm bread in the campsites. We hope to learn more of the oven’s capabilities this year. Please note that temperature control is a period baker’s art form, not so much a science.”
