Greetings unto the populace of Endewearde! Pray heed our words:
As you may be aware, we, Gwillim and Melisaunde, are about to end our third year as your baron and baroness. It’s been a winding road; sometimes challenging, sometimes a little nerve-wracking, often gratifying, and always fun. Our first full term of four years ends in October 2026. According to Endewearde’s Charter, we have the possibility – with your support – of continuing in this role for two more years. We very much hope that you would like us to carry on as your baron and baroness until the end of 2028, when our second term would come to an end.
We would like to reiterate our official notice given at the last baronial meeting that we would like to serve our second optional term. Per our Charter, anyone who might wish to step into our place at the end of our first term has one month to come forward by submitting their names to the Seneschal, Sir Vey. This would trigger a polling. Additional candidates would be sought, and the polling process would begin.
If no one comes forward to run against us, then it becomes a matter of a vote of confidence being sent to the EK Seneschal from the Great Officers of the barony. This process provides the opportunity for every member of the barony to share their feelings about our performance with any of the Great Officers with whom you wish to speak, so that every voice may be heard and considered.
We are hoping to have this process completed in time to announce the results in our Court at the Endewearde Hunt next month. A polling, should there be one, would take several months to reach its conclusion and we feel it’s tremendously important that our baronial heirs be found early enough to give us time to help them get their feet under them, to plan them a grand investiture according to the Royals’ schedule, and to introduce them to our cousins across the East Kingdom.
If you have any questions about this process, please check out the Endewearde charter found here on the baronial website and in the files of Endewearde’s Facebook group. Of course, you are also invited to speak to us directly or to reach out to our Seneschal, Sir Ane du Vey.
Sincerely,
Gwillim and Melisaunde, Baron and Baroness Endewearde
